South Florida-based BurgerFi has continued its expansion by bringing gourmet patties to the University of South Florida's Tampa campus. In partnership with USF Dining Services and Aramark, the fast-casual burger franchise opened Aug. 20 at Pinnacle Hall inside a new residential community, The Village.

Marking the second collegiate location for BurgerFi, the USF Tampa outpost offers hand-cut fries, onion rings and house-made sauces during lunch and dinner. The featured lineup of burgers includes the proprietary VegeFi, which is a crispy quinoa and pure-cut veggie patty, and traditional options made with Black Angus beef.

"We are excited to serve our better burger offerings to all students, parents and faculty at this new USF restaurant location," said Corey Winograd, CEO of BurgerFi, in a statement. "The new USF location allows guests to enjoy the restaurant’s latest technology, featuring self-serving kiosks and mobile ordering."

BurgerFi opened its first collegiate location at Philadelphia's Temple University last year, and other venues are under design and construction. Throughout the second half of 2018, the franchise plans to grow again with 15 to 20 locations, followed by an additional 25 to 30 in 2019.
