Ybor City can once again get its aloe shake fix now that Cephas Hot Shop is back open in the historic district.

The long-running Jamaican spot cooked island fare at the corner of 17th Street and Fourth Avenue for nearly four decades before announcing a relocation last October.

Cephas’ old shop is now home to the Lion’s Den, and today, Cephas opened his new smoothie and shake window, located at the courtyard of Tequilas at 1613 E. 7th Ave. in Ybor City.

“Whahoo! Cephas got approved today by the inspectors to open his new establishment for business!,” the shop wrote on social media. “He'll be open tomorrow, Friday the 7th. So come soon to welcome him and check out the new digs.”

The post added that Cephas is serving just aloe, turmeric and powerhouse tea for the time being and that “other juices soon to come. We’re willing to bet that Cephas will still try to get you to stop eating shrimp, too.

Hours at the new joint are 7 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Mon.-Sat; Cephas is closed on Sundays. Call your boy at 813- 247-9022.
