Fast casual restaurant Chicken Salad Chick is opening a new location in St. Petersburg’s Old Northeast neighborhood at the former site of China City. The spot, at 1221 4th St. N., is the 27th Chicken Salad Chick location in Florida.

During the opening day celebration set for Tuesday, March 2, the first 100 customers will get free chicken salad once a month for a year. The celebration continues through Saturday, March 6 with daily merchandise giveaways, including a Chick mask and tumblers.

The company hasn’t forgotten that they are opening in the middle of a pandemic.

“Chicken Salad Chick is closely following Florida's state and local guidelines for COVID-19 procedures and will open the St. Petersburg restaurant with social distancing measures in place. All employees will be wearing masks, as well as practicing proper handwashing and food safety protocol, and all guests will be required to wear masks until seated for dining,” a press release stated.

The St. Petersburg franchise location owned by Simply Southern Pinellas Group, LLC. first opened the Palm Harbor location in 2016 and now owns the Seminole and Trinity stores.

Hours will be Monday– Saturday 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Like that other chicken place, Chicken Salad Chick is closed on Sundays.
