Sea Dog Brewing Co. has taken its support of the Skyway 10K to another level. This year, master brewer Bobby Baker created a limited-edition beer, Sunshine Skyway 10K Pilsner, to celebrate the second annual race’s return to St. Petersburg next month.

Featuring Cascade hops and traditional two-row British malted barley, the Sunshine Skyway 10K Pilsner is billed as a refreshing beer with a citrus palate and crisp finish. It’s on draft at Sea Dog’s Clearwater and Treasure Island locations through February, alongside select bars and restaurants around the region.

Locals can even score the beer before and during the 10K. Invading the parking lot of Tropicana Field, the General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems Race Expo sells the Sunshine Skyway 10K Pilsner from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 2. Pints are also on hand until noon Sunday, March 3, when the race goes down earlier in the day.

A portion of the Sunshine Skyway 10K Pilsner’s proceeds will benefit the Armed Forces Families Foundation, as will race registration.

“The Sea Dog Crew is honored to participate for the second year,” said Sea Dog owner Fred Forsley in a statement. “We support the men, women and families who sacrifice to protect our freedom and security. This is one small way that we can say ‘thank you.’”
