This is a call for help. One of our dear friends and old chefs, Cody, is fighting for his life right now — and it would be amazing if he could focus on the battle while he is treated for stage four cancer. ••• Big C was moving on from Rooster to be executive chef at a new 200-seat resto. The job would've come with health insurance…and a chance. His diagnosis means he can't take the job; he has already undergone five radiation/two chemo treatments. Details and link to a GoFundMe are in our bio link, and details on a benefit are on the next slide. ••• 🚨PLEASE HELP🚨 BENEFIT: SUN. JAN 13 NOON-6PM AT @7venthsun Tampa All you can eat (incl. pig roast) for just $20 thanks to @chismisandco @lokocuisine @thislittlepigbbq and RtT.

The Tampa community has joined forces to help a good friend overcome a recent diagnosis.

Kegs Not Cancer will support Cody Fincham, a former chef at Rooster & the Till who’s started treatment for Stage 4 cancer. The ticketed benefit event — taking place from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Seminole Heights brewery 7venth Sun — includes an all-you-can-eat pig roast and live music.

“This is a call for help,” wrote the Rooster & the Till crew in a recent Instagram update about their dear pal (see above).

According to the two GoFundMe pages that were also started on his behalf, Fincham was tapped as the executive chef of a new 200-seat restaurant in town. But the battle ahead, which involves months of chemo and radiation, has sadly prevented him from taking the job.

Both the benefit and the GoFundMe donations will allow Fincham, who doesn’t have health insurance at the moment, to focus on his fight during this most difficult time.
