The Tampa Bay Lightning left a lot of sweat and spit on the ice in their run to back-to-back Stanley Cup victories, and now Bolts fans can have a taste of it… kind of.
In what feels like an attempt to out Bud Lightning the competition, Coors has quite literally scraped ice from the arena during the championship game, filtered, blended it with the company’s signature brew and is now sending it back for Tampa Bay fans to enjoy at local bars on Monday during the team’s boat parade.
WTSP says the beer will also be available at more than a dozen Tampa spots including Stones Throw at Armature, Rick’s on the River, Yeoman’s, Press Box, Hattricks, World of Beer’s Avion Park Drive location and more.
Coors said a limited number of collectible 32-oz. “Champions Ice” growlers will also hit the market.
Champions Ice is riding in on the coattails of The Stanley Cup Batch brewed by Molson Canadian Brews. The limited edition beer tastes exactly like the original, but it was passed through the bowl of the Stanley Cup before being packaged.
Don’t worry, both beers followed strict sanitation and filtering processes before being sent out.
