CL regularly presents focused listings of the best dining options in Tampa Bay’s neighborhoods. This week we’re giving you a guide to some of the newer spots in Tampa Bay that are worth a visit (or many) in the new year.

BAILEY'S RESTAURANT 238 East Davis Boulevard, Tampa; 813-254-8018, baileycatering.com. Relocated from Old Hyde Park into the space on Davis Islands previously held by Chez Bryce, Bailey's is open for dinner Wednesday through Friday nights. Serving East Coast comfort food with changing weekly specials and a full liquor bar in a cozy setting.

BT 2507 S MacDill Ave, Tampa; 813-258-1916, restaurantbt.com. Also a former tenant of Hyde Park, Chef Nguyen BT's new location may be smaller but her talent still shines through in the innovative Vietnamese-French fusion cuisine.

BURGER 21 9664 W. Linebaugh Ave., Tampa; 813-475-5921, burger21.com. A burger and shakes concept restaurant from chef Chris Ponte and the Melting Pot folks. A sizeable menu offering house made seafood burgers, as well as beef, turkey, chicken and veggie versions, alongside hot dogs, salads, shakes and floats. (Read Brian Ries' review here.)

CARMEL CAFE 2548 McMullen Booth Rd, Clearwater; 727-724-4228, carmelcafe.com. Labeling themselves as a stylish "Mod Med" cafe and wine bar, Carmel's menu spans the cuisines of the Mediterranean. Offering small tapas plates or larger versions of almost every dish on the menu and 3-9 ounce pours of many wines on the list.
