Savory pastry. Delicate little dough pocket. Pizza burrito. Whatever you call them, SoHo's new D.P. Dough restaurant plans to give away complimentary calzones in honor of its grand opening next week.

Located in the Tampa neighborhood at 500 S. Howard Ave., D.P. Dough, which CL first wrote about in June, specializes in calzones stuffed with classic and unconventional ingredient combos. There isn't a pizza to be found on the menu.

Here's how its free offer, limited to one per person between 5 and 9 p.m. Sept. 8, will work.

To redeem their full-size pocket of goodness, patrons should be at the restaurant in line by 8 p.m. and will need to do a Facebook, Twitter or Instagram check in on-site (see the Facebook event for more details). A computer will be available for those without a smartphone or other device.

The Roni Zoni, with pepperoni, mozzarella, ricotta and Parmesan; SoHo Zone, with pepperoni sausage, mozz and Italian spices; and Cheeze Zone, with mozz, ricotta and Parm, are the menu items up for grabs.

With in-store and phone orders at a halt during the giveaway, D.P. Dough aims to churn out nearly 1,000 calzones.
