Next month Driftwood Kava & Roastery plans on debuting its second location at 740 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg within the former Rawk Star Cafe space. Rawk Star closed its doors for good on Sat., Dec. 19, and just a week later, signage is going up for its replacement.

A representative from Driftwood confirmed that the doors will open during the first week of 2021 on a phone call with Creative Loafing Tampa. Driftwood Kava & Roastery's original location is located at 10767 Park Blvd. N. Oh, and before you freak out, the OG location isn't going anywhere, the brand is just expanding. The locally owned and operated shop's mission is to provide the community with a coffee and kava bar that is welcoming to all for a great, fun, and friendly environment.

According to its website, Driftwood's coffee beans are sourced from ethically run communities around the globe. The menu consists of espresso drinks, classic cups of coffee, iced drinks, tea, and specialty brews like matcha lattes, chai tea lattes and Hempt tea. There's also kombucha on tap and kava sips by the single or double. Driftwood also has a selection of baked goods, smoothies, juices, acai as well as some breakfast and lunch options up for grabs.

Upon opening, the St. Pete location will be operating 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Mon. through Thurs., 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Fri. and Sat., and 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Sun., while its sister Seminole location is serving 7 a.m.-9 p.m. seven days a week.
