Downtown Dunedin’s The Honu is pretty hard to find tucked away in its corner, but if you follow the sounds of a Steely Dan cover and happy hour goers yelling “wait, one more Mai Tai,” then you might be able to find this Hawaiin-themed restaurant and its brand new tiki bar.

The Honu’s newest addition, which quietly opened in December,  is about as state of the art as a tiki bar can get. It’s partially covered to deal with infamous Florida sun showers and fully-equipped with lanterns, bamboo-lined walls, eclectic bar stools, and a performance space for The Honu’s regular acoustic entertainers.

This Dunedin gem created the ideal space to sip its specialty cocktails, like Honu Punch or Maui Breeze. And if a cold front comes through Tampa Bay, you can still order your tropical-inspired food and drinks at The Honu’s cozy indoor bar.

The Honu and its brand-new tiki bar are open everyday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with the exception of Mondays —with a daily happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
