Red Mesa’s executive chef, Chris Fernandez, grew up in the revered kitchens of Oaxaca, Mexico. Fernandez visits the colonial city with a rich history several times a year, and next month, downtown St. Pete diners have the opportunity to experience the chef’s latest celebration of his roots over dinner.

The Magic of Oaxaca is the seven-course feast Fernandez has created for Red Mesa Events at 7 p.m. Oct. 18. His menu of traditional Oaxacan specialties are presented in an order driven by “ancient customs that celebrate life and the bounty of earthly offerings.”

Throughout the evening, Fernandez and Andy Jay, general manager and beverage director for Red Mesa Events, will thoughtfully pair each course with an international wine.

Tickets, which cost $150 each and include gratuity, are available for purchase online. Seating is limited, and guests should arrive in light cocktail attire.
