Two small-batch spirits makers that call Florida home were named among the top distilleries in the nation by USA Today readers. For the third year in a row, the publication's annual 10Best travel awards recognized Wicked Dolphin in Cape Coral as the Best Craft Rum Distillery. Sarasota-based Drum Circle Distilling wasn't far behind, securing the category's No. 2 spot.
We'll drink to that.
Readers also entered online votes to determine the best craft whiskey, vodka, gin and brandy producers, and even weighed in on the foremost Caribbean rum distillery. But, unfortunately, none of those winners hail from the Sunshine State.
"It's a great privilege for us to have been nominated and a great honor to win this title," said JoAnn Elardo, president of Wicked Dolphin, in a statement. "A Big Thank you to all that took the time to vote for Wicked Dolphin."
