Tampa Bay welcomes its newest bakery and dessert shop when Sucré Table opens its doors this spring—and you might’ve seen its owner and operator slinging cakes on the Food Network.
The mind behind this elevated dessert spot is Brenda Villacorta, a professionally-trained chef, and regular competitor on Food Network shows like the "Halloween Baking Championship" and "Cake Wars Christmas." Villacorta has worked under Michelin-starred chefs in the past and is excited to continue her culinary journey in Tampa Bay's food scene.
Sucré Table’s announcement on Instagram today states that the new bakery and niche dessert shop offers high-end pastries that can’t be found anywhere else in Tampa Bay, as well as unique, made-to-order cakes.
A Tampa native classically trained in New York, Villacorta brings her artistic vision to life at 4048 W Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa, in the space formerly occupied by Take Three Cafe.
Take Three Cafe, formerly known as the Little Donut House, was only up for sale for about two weeks before Villacorta sought the space out for her Sucré Table concept, which the post says has an opening scheduled for "Spring 2020."
If you want to get an idea of what sweet creations to expect this spring from Villacorta and the rest of her team, visit Sucré Table’s Instagram. It features realistic cake decor, snippets from her Food Network airtime, and sneak peaks of her unique dessert offerings.
One post depicts what looks like a pile of raw eggs and flour, but is actually a carefully-crafted dessert in which Villacorta used coconut granite for the flour, mango and roasted pineapple for the yolks, a honey-rum gelée for the egg whites, and a white chocolate as the egg shell.
Expect more of these zany, but elegantly-designed desserts when Sucré Table opens this spring.
UPDATED 2/3/20: To reflect that Villacorta has worked under Michelin-starred chefs.
