Next week, active duty service members and veterans are encouraged to dine with Sonny's BBQ to receive a complimentary pulled pork sandwich. Customers who present a valid military ID at any of the Florida-based barbecue chain's locations on Monday receive their sandos on the house.
Sonny's operates locally in Largo, New Port Richey, Palm Harbor, Pinellas Park, Sun City Center, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Wesley Chapel and Zephyrhills.
The freebie is part of an ongoing initiative, Random Acts of BBQ, which the chain uses to recognize people who spread do-goodery in their communities. To celebrate a Tampa Bay veteran or service member they know with a surprise barbecue party, guests can enter their nominations online now through Aug. 12.
