Adding to St. Petersburg’s liquid buzz over the last week or so, Green Bench Brewing Co. is celebrating the official launch of its mead and cider program with a release party.
Between 5 p.m. and midnight Friday, folks will sample the EDGE District craft brewery’s new line of beverages. Its rotating taps will showcase multiple styles and recipes.
The Rooftop (honey, apples) and Pinellas Peach (fresh peach puree, apple juice, Amarillo) are among the ciders that will accompany meads like The Lucid Poet, a pyment, and a cyser called The Northerner.
The region got an initial taste of the brewery’s cider and mead creations
last year at Cajun Cafe on the Bayou’s Cider & Mead Festival, where Green Bench highlighted several offerings, including a kumquat cider and a raspberry-blackberry-cherry melomel.
