Floridians can now fuel up with a Tampa institution at Thorntons.
The national convenience store chain, featuring food, drinks and gas, has joined forces with the family-run Alessi Bakery to supply guests with a variety of baked goods. Alessi, which has become one of the region's most popular catering purveyors, is a fourth generation father-and-son business that dates back to 1912. Its partnership with Thorntons took off Oct. 1.
Doughnuts and pastries, including cinnamon buns and cronuts delivered fresh daily, are among the beloved sweets that the traditional Tampa bakery provides to Thorntons locations around the state. One doughnut costs 99 cents, while fancy doughnuts and muffins are $1.69.
