Garrison Tavern is officially open in downtown Tampa, located at 700 S. Florida Ave.

This new gastropub sits inside the Tampa Marriott Water Street, and is stacked with flat screen TVs, a mini shuffle board and two Topgolf Swing Suites.

Garrison Tavern is the only place in Florida that has interactive Topgolf Swing Suites; these include two bays that has Topgolf games, 60 PGA tournament courses and various games like zombie dodgeball.

These bays can be reserved ahead of time, ranging from $50-$75 per hour, or get a package that includes food — it prices out to $20 per person.

Now for the menu: Elevated bar food offerings like tacos, barbacoa nachos and burgers have been carefully crafted by Executive Chef Julie Miller.

The restaurant also has a butcher in-house to ensure fresh cuts.

There are 24 brews on tap, 20 of which are local pours, including one signature collaboration with Coppertail Brewing Co. — the Garrison Tavern Kolsch.

The full bar is also serving up specialty cocktails like a seasonal lemon shandy, hibiscus margs and a Garrison Daly made up of vodka, orange blossom tea mix, lemon juice and garnished with a dehydrated orange peel and edible flower.

Garrison Tavern was dreamt up by Richard Sandoval, a critically acclaimed chef out of Denver, CO.

The restaurant also offers patio seating along Florida Ave. with flatscreen televisions.

Guests can also gain street access from Florida Ave. through the patio.

“Although this restaurant can be utilized by our in-house guests of the hotel, we want locals to come enjoy an elevated dining experience — and it doesn’t just have to be before a game or a concert. We want Garrison Tavern to be a go-to,” Tampa Marriott’s General Manager Ron McAnaugh said during a Tuesday preview.

A grand opening is in the works for April 25th — but that doesn’t mean the Marriott is finished with Sandoval’s big culinary plans. A second concept coming to the hotel in mid-July will be a seafood restaurant featuring a raw bar, with major downtown vibes.

Located on the back patio, the full-service concept is already well under construction, planning on seating 220 guests.

More details to come as plans progress.

Hours for Garrison Tavern are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week.
