Friends and fans are donating to a GoFundMe page started on behalf of Bob Lasseter, owner of Black Fox Meadery, to support his cancer fight and Palm Harbor business.

The former accountant turned mead-maker, who has Stage IV carcinoma of the throat and tonsils, is seeking financial assistance for medical treatment and meadery expenses until he's back on his feet. According to the online campaign, he undergoes chemotherapy and radiation daily.

"This business has been a dream for me and it means so much to me to get well and be up and running again soon," Lasseter writes on the page. "It is a family business with my wife (Judy), daughter (Vik) and grandson (Noah)."

Black Fox, located along Alt. 19, is temporarily closed for now. Lasseter's GoFundMe has received a little over $1,500 in donations.
