If you've been on Dale Mabry lately, you may have seen the latest food concept coming to life: Guthrie's.

The fried chicken finger joint has been a sensation throughout Alabama and Georgia and has made its way to Florida over the years.

Finally, Tampa Bay will be able to get a taste of these award-winning golden fried delights.

Yes, we are passionate about fried chicken. Although an opening date has yet to be announced, construction is underway and the sign is already glistening in the hot sun.

So what's all the hype about?

Guthrie's has been in the fried chicken biz for more than half a century, founded in Alabama in 1965. Although Guthrie's dabbled in burgers and other fast-food fare, chicken fingers came to be the sole focus.

In the near future once the doors open on the corner of South Dale Mabry Hwy and W. Paxton Ave., we can expect fried chicken finger boxes, sandwiches, and buckets.
