Southern fried chicken chain Guthrie’s is opening in Tampa this fall

Not much longer until Tampa Bay can get its hands on that award-winning Guthrie's fried chicken.

CL called another location and confirmed that a new Guthrie's Fried Chicken spot will open this fall at 5224 S. Dale Mabry in Tampa. 

The chain is a bonafide hit in the South, and now we can get a taste without having to go on a road trip. After more than five decades in the business, Guthrie's really started buzzing when its focus shifted from classic fast food items to strictly chicken tenders. 

Soon enough locals will be able to get the golden fried chicken by the bucket. Who knows, it might even strike up more competition with that Popeye's sando that's has been breaking the internet (and that I-275/Howard-Armenia exit near downtown Tampa).
