Not far from Tampa’s Bryan Glazer Family Jewish Community Center, a Greek-American bakery and eatery is taking shape. Psomi, which gets its name from the Greek word for bread, has gutted the former home of Peddy’s Radiator Service at 701 N. Howard Ave., making way artisan loaves and desserts made with ingredients both premium and local, among other fresh fare.
Psomi is billed as “upscale” and “modern,” and although the doors aren’t open yet, that hasn’t stopped the NoHo newcomer from giving its followers on Instagram a taste of what’s to come.
The bakery and eatery has posted several dreamy-looking photos of test kitchen dishes, including lamb, pork and beef meatballs topped with French feta, heirloom za’atar panzanella, pork souvlaki, and chicken stuffed with olive tapenade. Yum.
At the time of publication, Psomi was looking to fill four full-time staff positions: executive chef, lead baker, front-of-house manager and kitchen manager. Interested candidates can submit their applications online.
