Copper Shaker and Green Bench Brewing Co. aren't missing the opportunity to celebrate one of the most iconic beer styles around, the IPA, later this week. Coopers' Craft Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has joined forces with the St. Petersburg establishments to create a beertail in honor of National IPA Day.
Observed on Thursday, IPA Day brings the trio's collaboration in a glass, The Coopers' Collins, to Copper Shaker. The beertail — available from open to close thanks to Copper Shaker bartender Nick Notarpole — is a mix of fresh lemon, blackberries and ginger, honey syrup, and the easy-to-drink sipping bourbon that is Coopers' Craft. The whole thing is then topped with Green Bench IPA.
Copper Shaker patrons can score The Coopers' Collins for $10 throughout the beer holiday.
Distilled, bottled and aged in Louisville, Kentucky, Coopers' Craft (retailing at the suggested price of $25.99 per 750-milliliter bottle) features 82.2 percent alcohol by volume and a soft, light flavor profile. Its hints of lemon custard and baked apple supposedly complement the beertail's lemon as much as Green Bench IPA's citrus notes.
Staying in on IPA Day? Pull off The Coopers' Collins at home using the following recipe.
The Coopers' Collins
Makes 1
3 fresh blackberries
1 coin fresh ginger
1 1/2 ounces Coopers' Craft Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
