Imagine this for a second: You're having a romantic meal with your special someone (be it at your place or an outdoor picnic) you've picked up a great bottle of wine to drink, but wait — you don't have a corkscrew on hand. Do you:
A. Break the neck off of the bottle.
B. Interrupt your date by running to the store to buy one.
C. Get creative and use a shoe, phone book or coat hanger to open it.
The correct answer?: C.
Yep, you can actually open a bottle of wine using any of the items listed in C. The Daily Meal recently added an updated list of creative ways to open a wine bottle (to the original 5 they had previously written about), utilizing everything from a syringe, a screw and hammer and even a tree.
I'd have to say that my favorites are the shoe and phone book methods. But be warned: Make sure no one is standing directly behind the bottle if trying these two out. (Watch the videos below.)
