An upcoming fundraising event allows Gaspar's Grotto guests to help folks impacted by Hurricane Harvey while enjoying food and drink specials. To raise money for those who've lost their homes, businesses and experienced other setbacks due to the recent Houston-area storm, the Ybor City bar and restaurant starts accepting donations at 5 p.m. Sept. 8.

"Living in Florida, we know how devastating it can be to suffer personal losses from hurricanes and floodwaters," said owner Eric Schiller, who opened Gaspar's Grotto with his wife Shere almost 15 years ago, in a statement. "There is a tremendous need to help people throughout Southeast Texas rebuild their lives. That effort is going to take time and money and we want to lead the way in the Tampa Bay area to help make sure that happens."

Donations, at any amount, will go to the Save the Children fund to support Hurricane Harvey relief. Cash, check and credit card contributions are accepted throughout the evening.
