Wayback Burgers is ringing in the first day of summer with milkshakes on the house. The freebie, available all day Wednesday, is particularly good news for locals in Lithia and Plant City, where the Connecticut-based burger franchise operates the region's two fast-casual locations.
Since the average Wayback Burgers restaurant churns out 280-plus complimentary shakes during Free Shake Day, participating locations have stocked up on 2,200 gallons of ice cream, 175 gallons of chocolate syrup, 175 gallons of vanilla syrup, and 22,000 cups, lids and straws.
But even this annual tradition has its limits. Customers are permitted to snag one free junior black-and-white shake (made with a blend of vanilla and Hershey's chocolate syrup, vanilla bean ice cream and milk) per person while supplies last.
