The heat continues with no respite in sight.  We beer lovers are a tenacious bunch, so it is never a question of whether or not to drink beer, just what beer to drink.  During the dog days of summer, few are looking to the heavier brews like stouts or porters, so many reach for the seasonal releases.  Summer beers evoke images of light, refreshing, brews and tend to be light in body, lower in alcohol, and more “sessionable”.  Flavors run the gamut, but seem to lean more towards wheats and fruits, refreshing notes for the hot climate.

As breweries go, Magic Hat Brewing Company in South Burlington, Vermont looks the part of a bizarre circus act. With names like Odd Notion, Wacky Kat, and Howl, and bottle art that looks like it was created by a Wonderland exile, the marketing they do is eye-catching and fun.
