Late last month, Kahwa announced four band-spankin’ new locations around Tampa Bay—and next week, the local coffee chain celebrates the grand opening of its 16th location at the Tampa Airport Marriott.

The party goes down in the Marriott’s lobby—at 4200 George J. Bean Parkway—from 10:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, and Tampa Mayor Jane Castor will help Kahwa’s co-owners Sarah and Raphael Perrier celebrate the latest addition. Scott McClinton, the general manager of Tampa Airport Marriott, will also be in attendance. Sounds like a serious photo op.

What's more is that the cafe is trying something new with this opening. Instead of cutting a ribbon, the representatives will be taking celebratory espresso shots from a branded Kahwa shotski. Additionally, the first 50 customers receive an undisclosed special gift. If you happen to work at the airport or hotel, you’ll be able to snag a free cup of coffee.

Even better for us non-flying types, is that the cafe will be accessible from the street, so you won’t have to go through airport security if you want to sip some espresso.

Once the cafe is open, its hours of operation will be from 11 a.m. until midnight or 1 a.m. depending on the flow of business.
