Quite a few “yuhs!” may be heard reverberating throughout downtown St. Pete as the doors of its newest restaurant, bar and all-day cafe open for the first time.

St. Pete’s King State soft opens on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 8 a.m.-midnight, and according to its latest Instagram post, reservations for dinner service are highly-encouraged but not required from 5 p.m. onward.

A link for reservations will be posted on King State’s social media sometime this week.

“If you’ve been to KS Tampa, first off, thank you! We wouldn’t be here without you!! Secondly, KS St Pete is its own place and concept,” owners Tim McTague and Nate Young write on social media. “We brought the same focus, detail and vibe from Tampa that makes us who we are, but with the opportunity to build a restaurant concept that we’re so stoked to crush."

A grand opening party happens this Friday, Dec. 8, complete with a DJ set from Alien House’s Justin Depth and plenty of flowing booze and beers (although the kitchen will be closed starting at 4 p.m).

King State’s second location will soon debut at 15 8th St. N within St. Pete’s Harlan Hotel, where it shares space with CoHatch, a shared work space that will also celebrate its grand opening on Friday.

The Tampa-based cafe, roaster and brewery announced the opening of its second concept in St. Pete back in February.  St. Pete’s restaurant and cafe shares an Executive Chef with King State's flagship location in Tampa Heights; Chef Brett Wright altered its breakfast and dinner menu a few months ago, coinciding with interior renovations that happened over the summer.

A few photos of dishes like fish tacos, loaded breakfast bowls, salads and sandwiches have been posted on King State's social media, but there's no menu posted online  for its new St. Pete concept just yet.

In addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner service, King State’s St. Pete location will also boast a similar bar program as its Tampa cafe, alongside a variety of its own beers including popular brews like the Green Dart pilsner and  Tropunk IPA.

King State opened  its own contract brewing facility and taproom in St. Pete last year, but recently closed its doors for reasons unknown. The Brutalist's former building at 1776 11th Ave. N is currently listed for sale for $2.7 million dollars.
