CL’s weekly On the Sauce column does a damn good job of helping our readers up their cocktail games at home. But for locals who are in the mood to get schooled on the dos and don’ts of drink-mixing IRL, The Oyster Bar has a DIY cocktail class coming up in downtown St. Pete.
Starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, the class — titled A Taste of Paradise — spotlights a pair of signature cocktails made with Captain Morgan rums (not this food editor’s ideal choice, but, hey, novice home bartenders gotta start somewhere): The Spiced Mojito and The Spiked Blackberry Lemonade. Participants will learn to build, measure, pour, shake and strain both on their own.
The lemonade combines blackberry syrup and lemon juice with Captain Morgan White Rum, while the Mojito matches Captain Morgan Spiced Rum with sugar, mint, lime juice and club soda.
For tickets, which cost $10 each, shoot an email over to manager@oysterbarstpete.com. A Taste of Paradise is limited to 20 participants.
