Downtown St. Petersburg lunch veteran Lonni’s Sandwiches has moved—but not very far. The joint occupied 425 Central Ave. for many years now, and have recently moved to 429 Central Ave, just a few stores over.

Its old location is being taken over by Chick’nCone, a restaurant slinging fried chicken and other savory bites in a convenient, hand-held waffle cone (so the other hand is free for Instagram pictures.)

The new Lonni’s location opened on December 10 with a new look, and still offers all of the classic soups, salads and sandwiches, like the stacked Sunnybird Turkey Sandwich and the Nutty Chicken Salad combo deal.

Just last week Lonni's sold the signature Sunnybird for only $6.99 if customers mentioned the new location, but the loaded signature sandwich with fresh turkey, cream cheese, sprouts and sunflower seeds is worth every cent of its full price according to the restaurant's cult following.
