Manatees on the Bay is closing in Gulfport. According to the two-level restaurant and bar’s latest social media post, its doors at 3128 Beach Blvd. S. will close after Thursday, Jan. 31.
If you can, stop by one more time for a beer or some food.
“Today is the Last Day for Manatees on the Bay, They have sold to Caddy’s,” reads the announcement employee Daniel Rabice made on the Manatees Facebook page an hour or so ago (check it out above). “I just want to take a minute to thank all the Loyal Customers and friendly smiles that have supported us.”
Opened in 2016, Manatees served everything from seafood classics to reinvented bar favorites. Laid-back, open-air digs overlooking Boca Ciega Bay and live entertainment added to the joint’s neighborhood appeal.
Caddy’s Restaurant Group, which started with one location in Treasure Island and has since grown to four, will allegedly take over where Manatees left off, so we’ll see what the switch brings.
