Tampa's Cass Street Deli will hold its first pop-up event at Nebraska Mini-Mart — on National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day.
Because of course.
During the pop-up in Seminole Heights, scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 14, the forthcoming New York-style Jewish deli plans to showcase a small menu of pastrami sandwiches, crispy latkes, and house-made sour and half-sour pickles.
The latkes come with applesauce and sour cream (!), while the pastrami sandos are served on rye from Jamison B. Breadhouse Bakes.
Locals have been not-so-patiently waiting for a taste of Cass Street Deli since last month's announcement of its opening. The deli expects to launch sometime in January.
