This weekend 7venth Sun Brewing’s Seminole Heights location is getting a specialty coffee shop. On Saturday, Sept. 19, Alert Coffee Co. is celebrating its new home within the brewery from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
“We figured people who appreciate craft beer would appreciate specialty coffee as well,” co-founder and roaster Neal Beegle told CL.
Beegle is also an attorney, who got into coffee earlier this year and pulled the trigger on buying a commercial roaster for his garage. When positive feedback began pouring in, and he started securing wholesale accounts for his blends, he linked up with gym buddy Donnie Kessler who had always wanted to open a shop—and Alert Coffee Co. was born.
But why did the duo decide to launch within 7venth Sun and not a storefront of their own?
Apparently the concept of combining craft beer and coffee is prevalent on the west coast, and Tampa is late to the party.
Thankfully, Beegle was introduced to 7venth Sun owner Devon Kreps through mutual brewery friends, and the team thought it would be a prime collaboration of libations.
Alert Coffee Co.’s menu includes a full range of coffee beverages like espresso-based sips, drip, a slow bar pour-over menu, flat as well as nitro cold brew. Oh, and there’s a selection of teas to choose from for those who are trying to take it easy on the caffeine.
Hours for the shop vary from the brewery’s—7 a.m.-2 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on weekends.
7venth Sun Brewing and Alert Coffee Co. are located at 6809 N. Nebraska Ave. in Seminole Heights.
