Gulfport recent debuted a new bakery, A Friend Who Bakes, and to give it an official welcome, Visit Gulfport Florida is hosting a grand opening on Tuesday, November 12 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
The new bakery — stationed at 2901 Beach Blvd. S., Unit 105 — plans to offer beer, wine, cheese and complimentary desserts throughout the event. Block party vibes will permeate the evening thanks to a performance by singer-songwriter Brett Wilkins and extended hours at the neighboring Brenda McMahon Gallery.
Attendees are encouraged to bring toiletries as a donation for the nonprofit Women With Purpose (swap some TP for fresh baked goods, family). Those who donate have a chance to win a complimentary custom-made holiday pie for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Can't make it to the grand opening but want in on the sweets? A Friend Who Bakes specializes in breakfast pastries, cookies, cakes, pies, as well as custom orders. Hours for the new bakery are 7 a.m.- 2 p.m. Tuesday, 7 a.m.-noon Thursday-Sunday. The joint is closed on Monday and Wednesday.
