If you want some eats by the water but still crave a small-town feel, Gulfport is your dining destination. The city's eateries have been making headlines with openings, including ice cream shop Let It Be, Anani Bistro, Gulfport Brewery + Eatery, Sea Dog Cantina, and its most recent addition Salty's Sandwich Bar.

Sitting at 3121 Beach Blvd S., Salty's is serving a lineup of deli and specialty sandwiches. Diners can snag indoor seating to escape the heat, or opt for outdoor dining on the front patio or side courtyard which are both pet friendly.

Loaded sandwiches are Salty's forte, so the menu is stacked with options like tuna melts, Cubans, Philly cheesesteaks, BLTs, and variety of reubens. The Salty's Sub is piled high with Boars Head ham, salami, capicola and provolone cheese, topped with shaved lettuce, tomato and onion, with a helping of special sub sauce. Oh, and it's lightly pressed on garlic Cuban bread. If you like a little heat, add some cherry peppers for $1.49. Nostalgia seekers should grab a fried bologna sandwich for the road. All sandos are served with housemade chips and a pickle. Sandwich options range from $8.95-$12.95.

Salty's also offers classic soups like tomato bisque, and signature salads like the Bomb Diggity made with house greens topped with Boars Head ham and turkey, applewood bacon, cheddar cheese, cucumber, tomato, egg, avocado and artichoke hearts and served with your choice of dressing.
