On Saturday, Dec. 19, Tampa welcomes a new health-focused shop, Robeks Fresh Juices & Smoothies. Thoughtfully stationed at 1211 E. Kennedy Blvd. right across the street from a Crunch Fitness, Robeks' menu serves up sips made with natural ingredients for premium nutrition.

The smoothie selection is vast with categories like superfood, acai, classic, performance, wellness, and low-calorie. The signature Dr. Robeks is made with strawberries, raspberry sherbet, orange juice, immunity and multivitamin. Farm fresh juices are up for grabs like the Evergreen made with kale, cucumber, celery, spinach, apple and lemon.

The menu also offers a handful of acai bowls like the Nutty Acai made with acai, banana, strawberries, peanut butter, and papaya juice topped with fresh banana, more peanut butter, granola, bee pollen and raw honey. If you would rather take your healthy sips in shot form, Robeks has wellness shot options including wheatgrass, lemon ginger or turmeric.

For an extra boost, you can add a supplement (protein, probiotics, fiber, etc.) or enrichments like chia seeds, matcha green tea or spirulina for an added price.

The franchise location is owned by the Schaaf family, comprised of husband-and-wife Gary and Josephine alongside their son Brian. According to a release, the seasoned real estate couple noticed a lack of healthy alternatives in Tampa's Channel District. After a trip to a Robeks location in Miami, Josephine and Gary thought that opening a franchise location would be a perfect fit.

This Kennedy Blvd. shop makes five Robeks locations throughout the state of Florida. If you want your first taste on the house, download the Robeks app and you'll receive a free small classic smoothie. The app allows you to rack up rewards on each visit.

Robeks plans to host a grand opening celebration in January. Hours for the smoothie and fresh juice joint upon opening are 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Mon. through Sat., and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sun.
