If the phrase, “Lick it, Slam it, Suck it, TEQUILA!” excites you, then Tampa’s newest casual Mexican restaurant El Toro Loco is just the place for you. It celebrated its soft opening last month, and has been successfully slinging Mexican classics out of its doors at 2301 N Dale Mabry Hwy. since.

Although El Toro Loco boasts of “authentic” Mexican eats, there are a few menu items like its roasted corn appetizer dressed in Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and Doritos that might suggest otherwise. Nonetheless, it still sounds delicious, especially after a few shots of tequila. Other more traditional offerings include tacos with various protein options, chimichangas, burritos and enchiladas.

If you arrive at this Mexican restaurant a little late, be prepared for the lights to dim and the bass to start shaking your table, because El Toro Loco turns into a club at night. After 10 p.m., El Toro Loco becomes a 21+ spot.

El Toro Loco is now open from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday and 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
