New eats are pipping hot on Clearwater Beach thanks to A Slice of Rome. The new pizza joint made its debut just in time for spring breakers to grab a slice at 53 Baymont while rocking sandy feet and a wicked sunburn. Order a pie to-go and fight seagulls while you chow down under the sun.

No surprise that the 'za purveyor offers up Roman-style pizza that guests can snag by the slice, half or full sheet. The Caprese pizza is loaded with fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil and balsamic drizzle, which the concept says "brings the Italian flag to life atop our delicious hand-pressed dough."

Beach diners can also choose from a selection of salads and focaccia sandwiches.

According to A Slice of Rome's Facebook, the concept is sticking to family tradition which runs deep with Italian roots, "We've taken time and care to develop flavors using centuries-old traditions and the highest quality ingredients, right down to the extra-virgin olive oil that we import exclusively."

Hours for A Slice of Rome are noon-8 p.m. seven days a week.
