Celebrity chef Marc Murphy announced the name of the Mediterranean-influenced restaurant he's partnered with Tampa's Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to create. The new 250-city dining spot will be called Grey Salt.
In southern France and Italy, where the New York City-based chef mostly grew up, gray salt is a staple.
"When I was thinking about the menu for this restaurant, I decided to incorporate the finishing salt into some of my dishes to serve as a reflection of my childhood," Murphy said in a news release, "and when it came to think of a name, I realized that the words – Grey Salt – felt very much like what I wanted the restaurant to feel like — tranquil, soothing and calm. It’s hard to explain, but it just felt right and the more we all thought about it, the more it clicked.”
Serving eats like spicy lamb and tzatziki grilled flatbread and grilled gulf shrimp spiedini with charred lemon and scallion, the restaurant is slated to open in November.
