Tampa’s beloved Pickford Sundries storefront is getting a breath of fresh air thanks to the recently relocated Urban Bungalow and the newly opened Pickford’s Counter.

Pickford’s Counter (which was slated to be called “Lesiak’s Counter” when CL wrote about the concept in March) is a restaurant concept paying homage to the history behind the Pickford Sundries building itself. After hosting a soft opening June 25, the eatery—located inside of 2606 W. Hillsborough Ave. along with the Urban Bungalow retail space—is now open and serving locals not-so-traditional menu items.

The menu offers classic breakfast and lunch dishes, including a chipotle chicken sandwich and “Damn Good Grilled Cheese,” alongside some unexpected creations like their “Cereal Quesito” stuffed with cream cheese, goat cheese and breakfast cereals and a “Bubble Waffle.”

Also newly opened in the Pickford Sundries building is Urban Bungalow, a lifestyle and home essentials shop.

Having opened amid rising public health concerns, Pickford’s Counter boasts seamless online ordering and contactless curbside pickup, although guests are allowed inside with proper face coverings.

“We understand the world is scary these days-but don’t let that stop you from missing out on our delicious food!” Pickford’s Counter Facebook page reads. “We’ve made available the option for seamless online ordering available for you, completely contactless.”

And for $1 extra, you can pay for the Pickford’s Counter  making your contactless curbside delivery to not even look you in the eye.
