The South Tampa location of laid-back Mexican restaurant Nueva Cantina has quietly closed. The second location moved into the old Love's Artifacts space on Macdill Ave. just last summer, and after a little over a year of business the company has recently taken down all social media linked to its South Tampa location.

The Nueva Cantina Tampa Facebook is now deactivated, the Tampa location is no longer listed anywhere on their website, and Yelp.com has recently reported this location permanently closed.

The original Nueva Cantina location in St. Petersburg is still thriving at 1625 4th St. S., as well as their pop-up shop at Tropicana Field’s Enchanted Christmas, dishing out tacos and guac from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m daily, now through December 29. Hours for their St. Petersburg location are 11 a.m to 10 p.m. throughout the week.

Cantina Nueva’s South Tampa location is the newest addition to our running list of recently closed restaurants including  Le Boudoir RestaurantFlorida EatsNuMexCephasAmigos Tortilla Bar, and Baytenders (among a handful of others).
