Don't try to slide by for bites at NuMex for your New Mexican eats, the restaurant has shuttered after celebrating its two year anniversary last month, at 2710 Central Ave.

Rather than posting a farewell on social media, the concept simply switched their status to 'Permanently Closed.'

The joint served up a twist on traditional New Mexican-style dishes like a green chile cheeseburger, Frito pie and a flan which CL food critic JPC described during his 3 out of 5 star review in October 2017 as "The best-looking plate of the night is the classic flan with a custard more creamy than dense — and a nice garnish of two sauces and fresh fruit. It coats your tongue and tames any lingering residual heat." CL gave NuMex a call to see if Facebook was a fluke, but after a few rings an audio recording says, "No routes found." NuMex will join Amigos Tortilla Bar (which survived for less than a year) as failed Mexican-inspired concepts in the 'Burg.
