Now that cuffing season is back in full swing, OpenTable has released its first-ever 50 Best Restaurants for a Date in America list, and only one Tampa resto made the cut — Ocean Prime. Only two other sunshine state concepts made the list, Kyle G’s Prime Seafood in Orlando, and Latitudes on Sunset Key in Key West.
The list has been compiled from diner reviews collected between September 1, 2018, and August 31, 2019. A release says high scoring restos were then narrowed down if diners used tags like “GoodForDates” or “Good for a Date.”
OpenTable recently partnered with the Hinge dating app and commissioned a survey, which discovered that 86% of respondents find it stressful to select the perfect date spot. Now the duo is set to launch a “Date Night Matchmaker” feature to help diners find the perfect date spot to get the love juices flowing.
“Given the added stress daters face when looking for the right restaurant, we wanted to create a go-to list that offers a restaurant for any date — whether it’s your first or 1000th,” Anna Besse, Director of Marketing at OpenTable wrote in recent statement.
Don’t brave the holidays alone after being dumped for taking your significant other on a trash dinner date when you could slide to Tampa’s newly dubbed ‘Best Restaurant for a Date in America’ for an extensive menu including a raw bar, a hefty sushi selection, decadent seafood, chicken and pork dishes alongside fat slabs of steak like the 16 oz. ribeye with sides like lobster mashed potatoes and black truffle mac and cheese.
