If your kids are of a certain age, then you probably know that school is about to be back in session. If you don’t have any running around your home, then you might not realize how expensive it is to get children ready for the school year.

That’s why Cage Brewing is teaming up with Spark 5 and Blessings in a Backpack to collect new backpacks — as well as cash, check and credit and debit card donations — this weekend. A raffle and cold Cage beers should help convince you to pitch in, and if you can’t get to the backpack drop on Saturday, then two places (Southern Steer Butcher in Clearwater and Safety Harbor’s Coastal Cantina and Grill) will be collecting donations in the days before the event

Sat., August 10, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Cage Brewing, 2001 1st Ave., St. Petersburg. INFO.
