October is winding down, it’s cooled off outside and Halloween is finally here, which brings us to the save-the-best-for-last conclusion of On the Sauce’s holiday cocktail series. If you’re living life right, you’ve followed along with our zombie– and vampire-themed cocktails the past couple weeks. If not, well, get it together.

This week’s drinks spotlight witches.

Although witches might not be the most popular horror trope right now, a good witchcraft-powered flick can still send tingles down your spine. And even if it doesn’t, the right cocktail will make for a memorable movie night.

Some witchy films I suggest you pair with the following cocktail-and-shot duo: The Blair Witch Project (psychological horror), Drag Me to Hell (supernatural horror) and Suspiria (giallo horror). Drag Me to Hell is one of my favorites, and Suspiria and The Blair Witch are just an all-around creepy classics. You can’t go wrong.

Both beverages incorporate glassware that’s fun and uber cheap, but not mandatory. Pick up your Spellbound shot vessel at Old Time Pottery, then head to Target for your Witch’s Brew cocktail container. Invite some friends over for a scary flick. And give these Halloween drinks a try.
