We're breaking out the whiskey — again. And after those 2016 presidential election results, you're gonna need a drink.
A while back, I got my hands on Crown Royal Vanilla and made a delicious vanilla whiskey cider cocktail. That one's a keeper, as is this week's beverage, which calls for the 'nilla-infused spirit alongside pear and tonic.
You can find pear nectar at any decent grocery store and just about every Latin supermarket. It pairs great with the vanilla notes that round out our newest fall-flavored cocktail. While you're shopping, pick up a fresh pear (we'll use it as a garnish) to incorporate some freshness.

1 ounces tonic water (or ginger ale)
Pear wedge, for garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice, then add Crown Royal and pear nectar. Shake until chilled. Fill a rocks glass with ice and strain in cocktail. Add a splash of tonic. Garnish with a pear wedge.
