During a recent trip to my go-to spirits store, I was looking for inspiration to kick my Sunday Bloody Marys up a notch, and then I hit the jackpot: Cucumber vodka. Nailed it! While I used 75 percent of the bottle on Bloodys (which I recommend you try), I decided to have a little fun with the final quarter.

If you're a fan of the classic vodka tonic, you'll love this earthy twist. It's light, fresh, familiar but not tired. Gin people should give their favorite libation a try in the cocktail, too.

Sage and Cucumber Vodka Tonic
Makes 1

1 teaspoon sugar
2 sage leaves
1 lime wedge
2 ounces cucumber vodka
2 ounces tonic

In a rocks glass, add sugar, sage leaves and juice of the lime wedge. Muddle until the leaves are bruised and the sugar is mostly dissolved. Fill glass with ice. Pour in vodka, topping with tonic. Garnish with sage and/or lime.
