Fans of Jason and Cricket Borajkiewicz’s Dunedin restaurant The Restorative have a new Side Piece.

Cricket told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that she and Jason hope to have their new casual, order-at-the-counter concept (it’s called “Side Piece”) open by August 1, but that all of that really depends on inspections, licensing and whatever COVID-19 decides to do.

The Borajkiewiczs are running Side Piece out of a 100-square-foot space they are subleasing at Caledonia Brewing in downtown Dunedin, just a mile away from The Restorative.

Side Piece’s menu is focused on paninis—like the “quack attack” with confit duck french dip, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and thyme au jus, or the vegetarian “mary mo” and the meaty “hey mario"—but it also features snacks like pad thai popcorn, smoked fish dip plus a cheese and charcuterie plate. Dessert comes in the form of a plate with chocolate, beer marshmallow and pretzels.

“I'm sure when we get in the kitchen there one to two things may change,” Cricket told CL. “The menu won't change as often as the Restorative but definitely at least quarterly, since as you know we get bored easily.”
