The spookiest day of the year is almost here, making way for those seasonal gatherings that involve a beloved dinner-table staple: pie.
Uhuru Pies, which sells its baked goodies around the region to benefit Black Star Industries’ independent black economic development programs, has kicked off its holiday pie campaign.
The annual tradition brings pies — distributed and baked by volunteers — to locations like the Corey Avenue Sunday Market in St. Pete Beach, Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market and downtown St. Pete’s Saturday Morning Market. But online ordering for pickup or delivery is also available.
Featured flavors include apple crumb, gourmet chocolate pecan, traditional pumpkin and sweet potato. Gluten-free crust is offered for some flavors, as are 6-inch personal pies.
