Fried chicken food truck, Nash’s Hot Chicken, is closing up shop at the end of the month. But don’t fear, Nash’s is new launching a storefront just a short walk away at 905 Central Ave. in St. Pete’s Edge District (stylized "EDGE").

Nash’s is known for signature eats like the Southern Bird, hot chicken served with pimento cheese, Nash’s pickles, and bacon on potato bread. There’s also the Cluck Norris with smoked gouda, mac and cheese, Nash’s pickles, and baked beans.

These masterful combos are created by Ted Dorsey and Jason Griffin of The Mill. According to an interview with Tampa Bay Times, the duo planned on launching a brick-and-mortar prior to the pandemic. Now with the restaurant industry in flux, and cases on the rise, the fast-casual model is a “much safer bet” in the long run.

“We were already seeing the trends that everybody else was seeing—the market was definitely shifting to fast-casual,” Dorsey told the Times. “No business is pandemic-proof, but if we’re shut down again, we’re already set up to be able to do takeout and delivery.”

Not only will the new location host limited seating, but diners will also get a taste of some new menu items including Nashville hot chicken salad and homemade banana pudding.

If you want to have a seat while your nose runs, Nash’s can fit up to 10 diners inside. Customers can also opt for outdoor patio seating.

The doors to Nash’s storefront are set to open in early December.
